Impact & Shock Recording
Record extreme acceleration events — drops, collisions, impacts — that would saturate lower-range models. The ±200 g range captures the full waveform of high-g events, including the peak acceleration. WiFi and email alarms provide immediate notification when thresholds are exceeded.
Road Shipment Monitoring
Monitor heavy cargo and high-value equipment during road transport. The ±200 g range captures the full severity of road shocks, package handling impacts and loading/unloading events without clipping. Auto-rec mode preserves battery and memory for events that matter.
Drop Testing & Crash Simulation
Deploy in controlled test environments to record the acceleration profile of drop tests, crash simulations and mechanical shock testing. The 100% duty rate ensures no missed samples, and the 1024-line spectrum enables detailed frequency analysis of impact events.
High-Vibration Industrial Environments
Monitor equipment in environments with very high vibration levels or occasional extreme events that would clip lower-range instruments. Record acceleration and velocity signals, statistics and RMS levels continuously for months. WiFi connectivity enables remote data access.
What is the VSEW mk4 200g designed for?
The VSEW mk4 200g is designed for extreme acceleration events — impacts, drops, shocks and high-g road shipment monitoring. Its ±200 g dynamic range captures events that would clip lower-range models. For low-amplitude vibrations, ground vibrations or seismic monitoring, we recommend the VSEW mk4 8g with its ultra-low noise floor and DIN4150-2 support.
How does the 200g compare to other VSEW mk4 models?
All VSEW mk4 models share the same form factor, software and connectivity. The difference is the accelerometer range and noise floor: ±8 g for low-amplitude structural monitoring and DIN4150-2 compliance, ±40 g for medium-range road shipment and machine monitoring, and ±200 g for extreme impacts and crash testing. Choose the range that matches the maximum acceleration you expect to measure.
What software is included?
All Convergence Instruments software is free. The essential Instrument Manager handles configuration and data transfer. Optional tools include Wave Analysis, Speed & Displacement, PPV Analysis, VS Response Spectrum, Instrument Disk Recorder, Building Vibration Calculator, Auto Export, and VS Shipping Advisor for road shipment monitoring setup.
Can the 200g model measure velocity?
Yes. Like all VSEW mk4 models, the 200g calculates velocity in real time from the acceleration data. You can record raw velocity signals, velocity statistics (min, max, average), and RMS velocity levels. Email alarms can be configured on velocity thresholds as well as acceleration thresholds.
How long can the VSEW mk4 200g record?
With 128 Mb of non-volatile flash memory, the VSEW mk4 200g can record 3-axis full statistics at 1-minute intervals for up to 10 months, or at 1-second intervals for 5 days. Battery autonomy ranges from 16 to 125 days while recording, depending on settings. For indefinite deployment, connect a USB charger or solar panel. The auto-rec mode is ideal for impact monitoring — the instrument stays dormant and only records when acceleration exceeds an adjustable threshold.
